Coleen Rooney set for emotional reunion with sons on I'm A Celebrity as ITV plans surprise visit
Coleen Rooney is set to be reunited with her youngest sons in a surprise jungle segment on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! as ITV bosses treat her to an emotional reunion
by Susan Knox · The MirrorWAG Coleen Rooney is set for a surprise reunion with her youngest sons in an emotional I'm A Celebrity episode.
The mum-of-four, 38, was expecting only her mother to visit during the 'friends and families' episode. Coleen, who is married to ex-Manchester United and England star Wayne, has been seen touching a necklace bearing their four sons' names on screen as a sign she's thinking of them.
Before entering the camp, she revealed that her eldest sons, Kai, 15, and Klay, 11, chose to stay at home while Kit and Cass travelled with her mum to meet her upon her exit. It's thought that ITV bosses and hosts Ant and Dec saw this as a 'too good an opportunity' to pass up. Wayne, 39, is unable to attend due to his role as manager of Championship team Plymouth Argyle.
The friends and family segment typically takes place in the third week when five or six celebrities remain. An insider shared: "Everyone knows how much Coleen loves her boys, and it would be one of the most heartwarming moments of the series.
“It’s a really special part of the show, and there’s no doubt Coleen would be a blubbering mess - as would the millions of viewers watching at home. It’s going to be such a surprise for her.
Coleen previously told The Mirror that she was already looking forward to being reunited with her four boys, although only Kit and Cass will travel out to Oz. She told us: "They all had the option but the two older ones decided that they would stay at home to continue with school and football. I think I said when you come you' ll have to bring your work with you, and they would be missing some football tournaments, so they quickly changed their minds."
Thinking of seeing them again, she added: "It will be the most magical moment. Obviously, it will be the longest I would have been apart from them. But I feel like they're all at an age now where they understand and I've got a good group of people looking after them. I feel like always a mum, but now do for myself "I'm content everything will be OK."
While at home in the UK, Coleen's husband has been sharing his unwavering support for her while she shows her strength and resilience in the jungle. Wayne urged fans to vote for Coleen to do Bushtucker trials. He posted online on Friday: “Proud of @coleen_rooney on @imacelebrity she’s doing great. Me and the boys would love to see her doing a trial and we know she’d want to put herself to the test. If you can download the #ImACeleb app and let’s get voting.”
