Next's new 'coatigan' is perfect for keeping warm in autumn weather

Next has launched a new coat-cardigan hybrid - dubbed a 'coatigan' - that's ideal for that in-between weather when it's not quite chilly enough for your heavy coat. The Revere Collar Coatigan, with its button-up design and smart collar, resembles a coat at first glance, but is crafted from a lighter, textured fabric.

Priced at £47, Next describes this cosy piece as 'made for warmth', blending the form and function of a coat and cardigan to create a timeless and easy-to-style everyday piece. It comes in a regular fit, has drop sleeves and a lovely longline length, making it elegant and perfect for layering over knitwear. Plus, as you'd expect in any coat, it's finished with practical pockets with a chic detail of turned-up sleeves.

The Revere Collar Coatigan is a new addition on the Next website, so it hasn't received any reviews yet, but our shopping writers at BirminghamLive were particularly taken by the versatile design in oatmeal - and the affordable price point.

The rolled-up sleeves and oversized collar give it a pricier blazer-style look, thus making it smart enough to wear to work or more formal occasions, reports Birmingham Live. That being said, it would also look stylish thrown over jeans, chunky jumpers and paired with your favourite trainers or loafers.

While it may not be quite as toasty as a thick winter coat, we think it's perfect for those dry, crisp autumn days. You can easily fit a jumper or light layers underneath as well.
