Strictly fans fear for Tasha Ghouri saying 'viewers don't like it'
Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left concerned for Tasha Ghouri, as they fear she's been dealt "a disservice" by always dancing towards the end of the show
by Sarah Tulloch · The MirrorStrictly Come Dancing fans are raising concerns about Tasha Ghouri, suggesting the show might be doing the Love Island alum "a disservice," reports OK!. The 26 year old, who was born deaf and uses a cochlear implant, has won over viewers with her stellar dance moves and chemistry with pro partner Aljaz Skorjanec.
A fan sparked debate on the Strictly Come Dancing Reddit thread, stating: "Tasha is such a great dancer and appears to be a lovely person as well, but I really think the producers do her a disservice. Viewers don't like it when certain couples appear to be being favourited over others, and putting Tasha near to last on every show will eventually play against her. It happened with Alexandra Burke as well."
Another fan responded, saying: "I mean you can't put her on first because every other performance would be getting compared to hers, and none of the others would be scored even close to hers." A third supporter added: "That's why they put her close to the end."
One viewer chimed in on the debate, stating: "Nothing to do with the producers. People don't like her because she's by far the best dancer and she's also very beautiful. Your typical Strictly viewer wants the underdog to win. Your typical viewer is also female and favours the male celebs. Which is why you see lots of these 'I just can't connect with her, she's boring' type comments. They'd rather watch Chris [McCausland] or Pete [Wicks] awkwardly move around the dance floor because they have 'personality' off the dance floor. Ultimately the general public vote on who they like the most, not who is the best dancer."
On the other hand, another fan showered Tasha with compliments, saying: "I think she's brilliant. She's such a sweetie, enthusiastic, and a really good dancer. That's what I come to see." Just last month, viewers were left puzzled over an unexpected scoring gap. Liverpool comedian Chris and his professional partner Dianne Buswell stirred emotions with their touching performance to You'll Never Walk Alone, a song deeply significant to Chris.
Judges Shirley Ballas, Anton du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood appeared moved, awarding the pair their highest score yet - a whopping 35 points. Viewers were left shaking their heads after Tasha's fierce Tango to Florence + The Machine's banger earned her 34 points, setting off a storm on social media. One fan tweeted: "#Strictly Picky picky.... Chris better than Tasha... You're having a laugh...."
Scores of 8 from Shirley and Craig and 9s from Anton and Motsi swung in for Tasha and Aljaz. Another tweet followed: "In no world whatsoever should Tasha's Tango have scored lower than Chris' dance but I'm not surprised at all.. The judges love to let things slide when something is emotional."
A third viewer added to the chorus, tweeting: "The standard tonight is so high already. Even the dances that are being judged as 'good but these little things to make it great' are getting strong scores #Strictly." Frustrated by the scoring, another Strictly spectator expressed: "Tasha getting a lower score than Chris is actually LAUGHABLE. Stop giving him special treatment. It's obvious at this point #strictly."
Despite some scepticism, Chris's emotion-packed performance secured universal love. After his dance, he turned to his pro partner Dianne, asking uncertainly, "Did I do okay? " only to be reassured with her proud reply: "I'm so proud of you! " This tender exchange had viewers reaching for tissues nationwide.
"Genuinely sobbing at Chris and Dianne's dance right now. it was unbelievably stunning #strictly," one Twitter user admitted, clearly moved by the performance. The emotional outpour showcased a cascade of feelings as another chimed in: "Sobbing at Chris AGAIN #Strictly".
Further sharing their tearful reaction, another fan revealed: "Well I am SOBBING #Strictly." Someone else was also in tears, saying: "Chris and Dianne have me SOBBING. #strictly."
