One person killed in Canning Vale crash that split car in half

One person has been killed after two cars crashed in Perth’s southern suburbs, with one of the cars split in half due to the impact.

The Ford utility vehicle lost control after colliding with the other car, crashing into a tree and landing on the other side of the road around 7pm on Monday, along Nicholson Road in Canning Vale.

Witnesses told 9News Perth the utility may have been weaving in and out of traffic just moments before the collision.

WA Police blocked off the road for several hours last night to try and piece together what happened.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone who may have seen the crash, or who have further information, are urged to come forward.
