Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has provided the latest update on the company as she continues to reshape it in her vision. As part of this new direction, Xbox will end development of the Copilot AI software for Xbox consoles and the mobile app.

Asha Sharma announced the decision, as well as new leadership changes, in a post on X. “As part of this shift, you’ll see us begin to retire features that don’t align with where we’re headed,” she wrote. “We will begin winding down Copilot on mobile and will stop development of Copilot on console.”

Copilot, Microsoft’s AI companion, has been integrated into many of the company’s services, including Windows 11 and the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. Microsoft stated back in March that Copilot features would come to Xbox consoles later this year. Now, Asha Sharma has undone that decision.

It’s been a busy day for Asha Sharma, who also appointed new Xbox leaders as she seeks to remedy the company’s declining revenue. Stick with Shacknews for more Xbox news.
