How to fix the bench in Sinner's Road in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Is it even worth it?

Sinner's Road in Silksong is not an easy area to get through, filled with dangerous jumps and pools of maggots that interrupt your ability to make silk. When you do finally arrive at a bench and pay the required Rosaries for it, you will find that it is stuck, with something clogging the mechanism. This is how to unblock it.

How to fix the bench in Sinner's Road in Hollow Knight: Silksong

To fix this bench in Sinner's Road, you will need to climb up the wall to the left of Shakra. At the top, attach the wall there a few times with your Needle to break it, then go through the tunnel. Beyond is a very difficult, but straightforward path you will need to follow. 

There are multiple jumps over spikes that require you to pogo from blade to blade, and it can be a tough route to take. When you get to the end of it, you will find the cogs for the bench are all entangled with vines, so smash them with Needle, and then you can jump and dash to a tunnel leading upward that will bring you back to near the start of the jumping puzzle.

Remember to take advantage of various elements of the game's mechanics for this puzzle. Use a Crest that allows for downward strikes to make life easier, hit at the outer reaches of the strike for maximum height on the pogo, and use the float and dash mechanics to adjust in mid-air when you need to. I can honestly say there is no real secret to this puzzle outside of practicing your pogo technique until you can do it. 

The mistake I make most commonly is activating my cloak too early and not reaching full height from the pogo, which significantly reduces my window of time to execute a follow-up action. I will say that fixing this bench is painful, as every time you die you'll port back to your most recent bench. I would suggest using the one at Halfway Home in Greymoor for the easiest route back.
