How to complete the Introducing: Sekiguchi Contract - Marathon

Where to find the Necrotic Sample and the shell scanner in Orientation so you can finally speak with Nona.

by · Shacknews

Sekiguchi, also known as SekGen, is responsible for all of the shells in Marathon. But before you can speak with Nona and push the limits of shell tech, you’ll need to complete the Contract, Introducing: Sekiguchi. This one is tough, especially if it’s your first time on Outpost. Not only do you need to track down a Necrotic Sample, you need to scan your shell while it does continuous damage to you.

Check out our MARATHON INTERACTIVE MAPS.

Introducing: Sekiguchi

Introducing: Sekiguchi is a Contract you must complete before you unlock access to Sekiguchi and its representative, Nona. This task requires you to complete a series of objectives on Outpost in a single run – if you die or fail to complete all steps, you will need to repeat it. Not only are “in a single run” contracts tough, Outpost is no joke, so come prepared.

Inject the Necrotic Sample in Flight Control

The first step is to find the Necrotic Sample in southern Flight Control and inject it into your shell. Flight Control is a long section below Pinwheel Base that extends northwest toward Airfield. The part of Flight Control you need is the section to the south, closest to Pinwheel Base. Refer to the Marathon interactive map to find the location.

If you were to stand at the northwest point of Flight Control (closest to Airfield) and face Pinwheel Base, you must head to the right-hand side of the building. Follow the hallway south to find a side room with white boxes with pink lights. As you get closer, you will see the quest marker.

Pick up the Necrotic Sample and inject it into your shell. You will start taking continuous damage, first chipping away at your shield and then your health. Either have a Triage heal you or use a consumable to offset the damage. Now race over to Orientation.

Scan your shell in Orientation

The last step is to go to Orientation and scan your shell. The room you’re looking for is the thin section of the building between Orientation and Dormitories. This part of the structure is accessed via a hallway from either side. Here it is on the Marathon interactive map.

Once you’re in the correct room, stand in the cubicle across from the terminals to scan your shell. You will lose the constant damage and the Contract step will be completed. You can now exfil or keep searching for loot. When you’re done, head to the Faction page and claim the reward to access SekGen.

The Introducing: Sekiguchi Contract might be the first time you encounter a contract that requires you to complete a task “in a single run.” That can be difficult, and now you need to do it on the toughest map in the game (so far). But with this done, you should now have access to all Factions and can begin focusing on what you need. Find more help on our Marathon Strategy Guide.
