With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake coming out today, there’s someone else to thank besides Nintendo’s devs for bringing the game to fruition, Monolith Soft, and it’s hardly the first time. The Xenoblade Chronicles developer and some of its leadership are listed in the Special Thanks section of the Zelda: OOT remake’s credits, marking the latest Nintendo open-world adventure Monolith has assisted on.

Monolith’s listing in the credits could be seen once a player completes the main story in Ocarina of Time. Managing Editor David Craddock provided Shacknews with a look at the credits from his review run of the game. Under the Special Thanks section, Monolith Soft is listed, but further down, the president of the studio, Hirohide Sugiura, and studio head of Monolith’s Kyoto office, Tadashi Nomura, are listed. While that can be seen in the game, the Ocarina of Time remake is now publicly listed on its corporate website portfolio of games.

Monolith Soft, in addition to developing, updating, and maintaining the Xenoblade Chronicles series, was a regular contributor to Nintendo’s other titles before and after the Big N fully acquired Monolith Soft in December 2024. Some of its Special Thanks/supporting credit titles include The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Kart World, and Splatoon Raiders. And that’s in addition to its own projects, which currently includes the development of its new flagship franchise title Xenoblade Chronicles: Genesis.

Monolith Soft continues to remain a good investment for Nintendo, which can once again thank them with the successful and critically acclaimed release of the Ocarina of Time remake. Stay tuned to the Monolith Soft topic for more updates and news.
