How to get the Truth Exotic Catalyst in Destiny 2

The Truth Exotic Catalyst takes what is already a fun and useful weapon and makes it into a powerhouse. Here's how to get it.

Truth is one of the many Exotic weapons that got a new Exotic Catalyst with the Monument of Triumph update, on top of a host of buffs. Getting the Catalyst, however, is very much a matter of luck, but well worth the grind if you land it.

To get the Truth Exotic Catalyst, you need to complete Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit Ops activities or complete Exotic Orders. Each has a small chance of awarding Truth’s Catalyst.

Bear in mind that there are around a dozen Catalysts in the possible loot pool. Even if you do get a drop (a rare enough thing on its own), there’s no guarantee it will be the Truth Exotic Catalyst.

Many of the new Catalysts are worth having, so getting any of them is an immediate improvement to your account. Some, like the Vex Mythoclat Cataylst, require you to have a Raid-specific Exotic, but getting truth is thankfully easy.

To get Truth in Destiny 2 in 2026, you need to visit the Monument to Lost Lights at the Tower. Select the Light and Dark Saga Exotics, then navigate to the Forsaken Exotics section.

There, you can find Truth, which you can purchase for the not-so-low price of one Exotic Cipher and 125,000 Glimmer. These Exotic Ciphers are primarily purchased from Xur every weekend, and you can only hold one incomplete one at a time.

Once you do have Truth, you can start grinding for its Exotic Catalyst, which does…what exactly?

I’m still grinding for the Truth Catalyst myself, but the folks over at Light.gg have what it does on lock. Specifically:

Catalyst Name: Reaper’s Tithe

Effect: Multiple simultaneous final blows queue up a stacking damage buff. The timer starts the next time you fire the weapon. Final blows extend the timer.

In other words, so long as you have rockets to shoot and enough enemies to defeat with those rockets, you can stack Truth’s damage into the stratosphere.

You need to defeat 300 enemies with Truth to unlock the Catalyst’s effects, then activate it in the weapon stat screen.
