How to get the Crest of the Wanderer in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Get the Crest of the Wanderer and make Hollow Knight: Silksong a more comfortable game to play.

Crests are one of the main ways to alter how combat functions in Hollow Knight: Silksong. If you were hankering for an experience that more closely resembles the original game, the Crest of the Wanderer is for you.

It gives Hornet the Knight’s moveset from the first Hollow Knight, making everything from platforming to combat a bit more comfortable. Here’s where you can find it.

Where to find the Crest of the Wanderer in Hollow Knight: Silksong

You’ll find the Crest of the Wanderer in the Chapel of the Wanderer, in a zone to the west of Bone Bottom. To reach it, you need access to the Wormways, which you can only get by using a Simple Key on the locked door west of Mosshome.

The easiest way to reach it is to at least have the Drifter’s Cloak by finding the Spine Cores and giving them to the Seamstress, as well as Swift Step for the air dash.

Travel up to Mosshome the old-fashioned way or via the elevator shortcut, then jump across the hanging cages to the tunnel above and to the left of Bone Bottom. From there, dash past the poison-spitting bug and use the Simple Key to unlock the door.

Once in the Wormways, dodge the first few falling worms and take the first path down you encounter. Descend as far as you can through the caverns until you reach the mossy areas again. Continue downward until you get to a lake, then keep heading to your left.

You’ll eventually happen upon a squat structure, the Chapel of the Wanderer. Go through the Chapel until you reach a mini-boss room where you’ll be jumped by several groups of Pilgrim mobs.

Proceed left after defeating them, drop down to the lowest level, and head right. You’ll eventually encounter a wrapped body with the “Claim” prompt above it. Interact with the body to Bind the Crest to yourself and add the Crest of the Wanderer to your selection.

Equip the Crest at any resting Bench and take on the original Hollow Knight’s moveset as your own.
