by TJ Denzer · ShacknewsAt Apple WWDC 26, Apple unveiled the latest major OS update for Mac devices: macOS 27, otherwise known as “Golden Gate.” It includes improvements to app-loading speeds, as well as fixes and adjustments to make its recently introduced Liquid Glass UI feature a more positive experience.
The latest macOS 27, Golden Gate, was unveiled during the WWDC 26 keynote.
Liquid Glass improvements were at the front of Apple’s explained changes in the WWDC 26 presentation. In addition to improving clarity and use of Liquid Glass, macOS 27 also introduces a new slide that allows users to reduce and increase the opacity of the glass UI, from fully transparent to fully clouded. Apple has also improved app loading on its devices. The developer claimed that by pre-loading key data, Golden Gate allows apps to open up to 30 percent faster.
Other major improvements in Golden Gate include much-improved parental controls and child safety features. There are new controls that allow parents to limit what children can browse, buy, or download on app stores and the internet. It also includes safety features to limit what kids can see, who they can talk to, and what content they can access.
Apple intends to launch macOS 27 Golden Gate around September 2026. Stay tuned to the Apple topic for more news and updates.
