The developers at sunset visitor (1000xRESIST) and Black Tabby Games (Slay the Princess) have teamed up in an announcement of their latest game, Prove You’re Human. Black Tabby Games will publish as sunset visitor arranges a new and complex narrative about being hired to correct an AI machine that believes it is human, including defeating CAPTCHA verifications.

Black Tabby Games and sunset visitor announced Prove You’re Human with a new trailer today. The main character has apparently split their consciousness into a digital form to go into a system and interact with Mesa, an AI that believes it is as human as the player. Players will explore Mesa’s digital world, learning about the system and attempting to break down the system’s “delusions.”

Prove You’re Human has obvious implications about self-identity and consciousness, but it also looks like it will use all sorts of interesting methods in its gameplay, including use of CAPTCHA-style verification puzzles to alter the world. You have a body outside of Mesa’s world, so there will be interactivity there as well, including a choice as to whether or not to re-merge with the real self when your task is done. Sunset visitor utilizes real-world footage blended into the game as well, somewhat like the full-motion video of old games.

Sunset visitor and Black Tabby Games have won players over in their own separate corners of gaming with 1000xRESIST and Slay the Princess, respectively, and they both did it on titles with excellent, bending, and often complex narrative adventures. It will be exciting to see how their collaboration turns out. Stay tuned to the indie games topic for more updates.
