Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Switch 2 release date
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026. Developer FromSoftware confirmed it in a social media post. This version of the game will include its base content as well as the 2024 expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will also include some new content. Fresh screenshots show the player with new gear. FromSoftware has confirmed that players on other platforms will be able to buy these new items through the Tarnished DLC pack, which will also launch on August 28.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition was originally slated for a 2025 release, but was delayed following concerns regarding its performance on the Switch 2, specifically in Handheld mode. When Long Reads Editor (and FromSoftware expert) David Craddock played Elden Ring Tarnished Edition at this year’s GDC, he walked away impressed by its performance on the Switch 2.
