Evening Reading - May 5, 2026

It's nighttime in America, which means time for another edition of Evening Reading.

by · Shacknews

Welcome, Shackers, to the end of another Tuesday. It’s been a packed couple of days for Shacknews, and especially for me. I got to celebrate the 200th episode of Indie-licious. It’s been a little over 6 years since I started the livestream and we’ve played a lot sense. We also had some awesome LEGO Batman content launch today. There are a lot of earnings to cover this week and we’ll be following up on all of that, but for now, it’s time to bring another day of posting to a close. Here’s your Evening Reading.

In case you missed it at Shacknews…

And now… More stuff from The Internet!!!

Tune into the Shacknews E4 Indie Showcase 2026 on June 3!

We’ve locked in a fantastic collection of games. I can’t wait to share it with you all next month.

It was, once again, a Tuesday

Tuesdays should pay extra Bison Bucks. It’s only fair.

Build a baddie

I want to know what that bear said that made that clerk go, “y’all can’t come here anymore.”

Meeting the evolution about 10 stops down the path

Four more legs than that snake was expecting to see.

The Chonkinator

When I finally give up on trying I’m going to put a machine like this together, but for chicken nuggets, and direct the trough towards my mouth.

Elon’s being a weirdo again

Shockingly, not even the creepiest thing Elon Musk has done with Twitter accounts, but still pretty creepy.

Ice Cold Beer

I love finding this machine working in the wild. It’s such an interesting mechanical game.

And there you have it. That’s your Evening Reading for this May 5, 2026. If you want to support Shacknews and enjoy fantastic benefits for it, you need to peep Shackpass. It gives you ad-free access to our site, downloadable e-reader versions of our Long Reads content, access to the mass repository of content that is Fileshack, and all for only $5 USD a month or $50 a year. If you don’t have a dollar, you can still support the site through our other ventures like the pet picture mobile app, Shackpets, or even our free browser game, Bubbletron, where you can assemble billion-dollar ideas from a daily blend of prompts. Can you get the highest valuation and earn the money hat?

MAGA complains about Sesame Street so much I thought I'd pitch a conservative version, but Bubbletron thinks the idea stinks.

Have a good evening. We’ll see you in the morning for more posts and updates.
