Valve is working to resupply Steam Controller stock after quick sellout
Valve says that the Steam Controller went out of stock faster than it anticipated.
by Donovan Erskine · ShacknewsThe new Steam Controller went on sale yesterday and sold out within minutes. While the controller was intermittently available in the hours after its release, Valve’s entire inventory was eventually wiped out. Now, the company says it's working to quickly address demand.
“Steam Controller ran out faster than we anticipated, and we hate that not everyone who wanted one was able to get it.” wrote Valve in a post on X. “We’re working on getting more in stock and will have an update on expected timeline soon.”
The new Steam Controller, priced at $99.99 USD, sports back buttons, magnetic thumbsticks, trackpads, and haptic motors. It can be used both wired and wirelessly and has built-in SteamOS integration. It’s the first in a series of new hardware releases from Valve, which will include the Steam Frame and Steam Machine. Editor-in-Chief Asif Khan quite liked the Steam Controller in his recent review.
