How to unlock free roam - Forza Horizon 6

Free roam in Forza Horizon 6 lets you explore the beautiful country of Japan and search for all the hidden collectibles.

Racing is a big part of Forza Horizon 6, but so is roaming around the map searching for collectibles and other events. If you want to get into the exploration side of the game, you’ll need to unlock free roam, which happens pretty early on in the piece.

How to unlock free roam

Free roam unlocks after you complete the short race through the new route in Japan. This race is after the tutorial and after you select your car. You’ll race into Tokyo and then your contact will offer for you to test out a new route to make sure it’s fun.

Once the race is completed, you’ll be asked to go to a new event by selecting it on your map. Select any event, start driving, and then just go wherever you want. You can even open the map and remove the pin from the event and place it somewhere else.
