Sony has sold over 93 million PS5 consoles since launch in 2020

The PlayStation 5 was only said to have sold 1.5 million units in Sony's Q4 2025 earnings results.

Sony was the latest to report on its quarterly earnings results this week, and its FY25 report shared the latest on cumulative PS5 hardware sales. Sony reported that its PS5 console sales reached 93 million on the back of about 1.5 million sales in Q4.

PlayStation posted its FY25 earnings results, including its Q4 financials on its investor relations website. On page 12 of its supplemental materials, Sony reports a PS5 hardware sales number of 1.5 million, down from the 2.8 million in Q4 2024.

While Sony continues to push towards 100 million console sales for the lifetime of the PS5, several factors have gotten in the way in the last year, not the least of which has been price increases on the consoles this far into their life cycles. Sony went as far as to increase the prices on refurbished PS5 Slim models as well.
