Shack Chat: Who is your favorite Pokopia friend, or which Pokemon are you hoping to find?

Here are the Pokemon that've stolen our hearts in Pokemon Pokopia!

by · Shacknews

Pokemon Pokopia has been in our lives for a couple of weeks now and we're still obsessed with it. It's got a vast Pokedex that we've yet to complete, so here are the Pokemon we love the most, or hope to meet on our adventures.

Question: Who is your favorite Pokopia friend, or which Pokemon are you hoping to find?

Umbreon (or any Eevee evolution, really) - Ozzie Mejia, Senior Ed-Ditto-er (Whatever, they can't all be winners)

Source: The Pokemon Company

I've been a big fan of Umbreon since Gold/Silver, even more after Pokemon Colosseum came out. So any time I have a chance to find one, I've gotta get one. This was even true when I went to San Francisco for GDC and found out about the Ditto plushes that were all over the Nintendo Store. Sadly, the Umbreon Ditto plushes were sold out. Another "L" for me.

So yes, once I get started on my Pokopia journey, I'll be on the lookout for Umbreon. Really, I'll be on the lookout for any Eevee evolution, because it's always fun to see the different ways they interact with the world.

Noibat - TJ Denzer, Senior Pokemon News Delivery

Source: The Pokemon Company

I have a handful of newish Pokemon that have completely won my heart over that I’d love to see in Pokopia. I’m quite fond of Tinkaton, Bewear, and Ursaring, and I almost chose Noibat because it’s so dang cool, as is its evolution, Noivern. However, as I was starting to write for Noibat, I remembered telling Donovan on one of his Pokopia streams that a winter Delibird event is how Pokopia gets to be my Game of the Year, and I have to say that I still feel that.

I love the Winter holiday season, the lights, the warmth, the kindness, and spirit of community and giving, and Delibird is the Pokemon who embodies all of those vibes. It has long been used in winter and holiday events to the point where Delibird is basically synonymous with the season of giving. Also, conceptually? Delibird is just the silliest little guy, hiding food, gifts, and sometimes disaster (if you make it angry) in its floppy bag tail. I still have so many Pokemon I enjoy seeing, but Delibird makes me feel all warm and happy inside. I’m always happy to help a Delibird make its deliveries and I hope Pokopia gives me that chance later this year.

Pikachu - Asif Khan, Likes PIkachu

This might be considered a basic answer, but my favorite Pokemon is Pikachu which means I am looking forward to discovering that little yellow fella in Pokopia. Not Peakychu, or Pichu, but Pikachu.

Chandelure - Sam Chandler, Because it is my name!

Source: Serebii

How could I, Mr Chandler, choose any other Pokemon? Chandelure is literally (figuratively) my name (surname)! It’s too perfect. Plus, this thing is an actual chandelier, so I think it’d bring a bit of ambiance to my world.

Ceruledge - Donovan Erskine, Sinnoh Elite 4 member

Source: The Pokemon Company

I haven’t seen Ceruledge yet myself, but I’ve got a good feeling that he might be somewhere in Pokemon Pokopia. The Fire/Ghost-Type debuted in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and is one of my favorite designs in the last decade of Pokemon. He’d be a perfect fit for Pokopia, too, because he’d be able to burn items or chop wood into lumber.

Blastioise - Steve Tyminski, Pokemon Master!

Source: Nintendo

My Answer to this question would have been different if Pokemon Pokopia didn’t start out by having Squirtle need help. Squirtle is my favorite Pokemon ever! That being said, I would have said Wartortle if I didn’t just recently get Wartortle to show up in my game. So I have to go with the final evolution of Squirtle for this question, Blastoise. Blastoise is the coolest of the three Kanto starter final evolutions and doesn’t get nearly as much love as he should.

Those are the Pokemon that are defining our Pokemon we're most excited about in Pokemon Pokopia. What say you? Sound off in the Chatty and on social media.
