How to get the Map in Mina the Hollower
Mina the Hollower's Map a little less exciting than you might think, but it does provide a helpful checklist for 100 percenting the game.
by TJ Denzer · ShacknewsYou might be wondering if there’s some kind of overworld map in Mina the Hollower to help you keep track of where you’ve been and where you should go. The answer is yes, kind of. It’s definitely a map, but it’s less helpful than you might think at first. Nonetheless, it proves useful near the end of the game when it provides a checklist of what you have and haven’t done, and here’s what you need to do to get it.
Unlock the Hollower’s Guild
In order to get the Map, you’re going to have to unlock the Hollower’s Guild and restore it to functional form. That means going to save Rhene and bringing her back so she and Muriel can put it all back together. After you’ve restored the Guild, you just need to dig up another Hollower, Drillhardt. He’s going to be the spiral-horned deer under the dirt mound in the Hollower’s Guild that sells you Underlab checkpoint upgrades once it’s active again.
Talk to Drillhardt to buy the Map
Once the Hollower’s Guild is functional and Drillhardt has been burrowed out of his predicament, you only need to talk to him to activate him as a shop. He specifically sells Underlab upgrades that can be accessed at any checkpoint in the game. One of them is a map.
When you get the map at first, it’s not very useful. It only shows you the general lay of the land and shows the orientation of where every biome is located. However, it’s not useless. Once you finish about three Spark Generator restorations, Drillhardt will upgrade his stock, which includes a Map Upgrade. That version of the map will tell you, by biome, what types of collectibles and how many you’ve left behind in any area. If you’re trying to 100 percent the game and don’t want to rack your brain figuring out where you left that last hidden item, the upgrade map is almost a must.
Now that you know how to get your hands on the Map, you’ll be a little more ready to explore Tenebrous Isle. For more guides and coverage, be sure to check out our Mina the Hollower topic.
