Lionfish-4fr PvE and PvP god rolls - Destiny 2

Getting the Lionfish-4fr god roll ensures you have one of the best PvE Fusion Rifles in Destiny 2. PvP is here too.

Stasis Fusion Rifles have long been incredibly strong in Destiny 2, and the Lionfish-4FR builds on its predecessor’s strengths — and its god rolls make it even stronger. There’s even a guaranteed way to get your hands on one, though the farm is a bit laborious.

Like the Riptide before it, the Lionfish-4fr is a PvE powerhouse, and the god roll takes it to a whole other level. Having it combines the strength of the Stasis freezing effect with the ability to passively overflow the magazIne. That makes it a fantastic endgame option, no matter what activity you’re doing.

Lionfish-4fr god roll - PvE
BarrelArrowhead Brake (+10 Handling, +30 Recoil)
MagazineAccelerated Coils (Decreases charge time, -10 impact)
Perk 1High Impact Reserves (This weapon slowly reloads itself over time, up to double capacity.)
Perk 2Closing Time (Direct hits with the top half of the magazine cause a detonation that slows nearby targets.)
Origin TraitProblem Solver (Dealing sustained damage to Champion, miniboss, or boss combatants exhausts them and grants this weapon handling and reload speed. Exhausted targets deal reduced outgoing damage.)
MasterworkCharge Time (+10 Charge Time when maxed out.)
ModBackup Mag (+1 round in the magazine by default.)

Reconstruction was introduced back in the Beyond Light expansion, and it remains as high-quality an option as it was all those years ago. Add in Chill Clip and its ability to proc consistent slows and shatters makes the Lionfish-4fr both an anti-Champion and secondary DPS weapon.

Accelerated Coils and Arrowhead Brake round the weapon’s best setup, though you could make an argument for Corkscrew Rifling as well. Both Barrel choices are perfectly usable, though I’d argue the larger Recoil reduction from Arrowhead Brake is more valuable than the middling Stability and Range bonuses from Corkscrew.

Sadly, the Lionfish-4fr is not nearly as effective in PvP as it is against the enemies of humanity. The primary problem is that it lacks the perk selection for action in the Crucible, where speed and lethality are far more important than sustained damage and utility.

Lionfish-4fr god roll - PvP
BarrelArrowhead Brake (+10 Handling, +30 Recoil)
MagazineAccelerated Coils (Decreases charge time, -10 impact)
Perk 1Transcendent (Final blows grant bonus stats based on the weapon's damage type alignment. Light elements grant stability and handling. Dark elements grant range and aim assist. While Transcendent, this weapon gets both bonuses.)
Perk 2Swashbuckler (This weapon gains increased damage from melee kills and kills with this weapon.)
Origin TraitVeist Stinger (Damaging an enemy with this weapon has a small chance to reload the magazine and increase movement speed while aiming down sights.)
MasterworkRange (+10 Range when maxed out.)
ModEnhanced Range (+10 Range at max.)

We’ve really had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for anything approaching PvP-friendly with the Lionfish-4fr. Transcendent Moment is far from an ideal choice, and Swashbuckler is an equally poor stand-in for other, more efficient damage perks. Still, you can get by with this roll if you have nothing else. I don’t recommend it, but you could.

How to get the Lionfish-4fr

If you’re reading this the week of June 24, 2026, the Lionfish-4fr is the featured Vanguard Arms Reward, and actually has the god roll as a possible choice (minus the Masterwork) if you can earn Tier 5 weapons.

For all other times, this Fusion Rifle is tied to the Pinnacle Ops playlist. It can drop as a random reward from the final chest. You can also buy one from Zavala for three Vanguard Engrams, three Vanguard Ciphers, and 15,000 Glimmer. A steep price, to be sure, but better than running high-difficulty activities to distraction.

Good luck!
