Animal Crossing: New Horizons tops 50 million units sold

Another 380,000-odd sales in Q1 FY27 has pushed Animal Crossing to greater heights.

Almost a third of all Nintendo Switch consoles ever sold could have their own copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The latest entry in the cozy franchise has surpassed 50 million units sold.

Nintendo (NTDOY) released its Q1 FY27 earnings report on August 6, 2026, which also resulted in the Big N updating its Top Selling Title Sales table. Animal Crossing: New Horizons now sits at 50.29 million units sold, up roughly an additional 380,000 units for the quarter. This puts it 21.24 million units behind Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has seen a lot of love from Nintendo in the form of free content, seasonal events, and ongoing updates as well as paid expansions and the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch 2 Edition.

This earnings period for Nintendo also saw Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream sell more than 8 million units while the Switch 2 sold another 3.82 million, bringing the lifetime total to more than 23 million.
