Pure Recollection PvE and PvP god rolls - Destiny 2
When you have a god roll Pure Recollection in Destiny 2, you have one of the strongest PvE DPS Shotguns in the game, and a neat one in PvP.
by John Schutt · ShacknewsGetting a god roll Precision Frame Shotguns like Pure Recollection makes it a premier DPS weapon in PvE, and are a menace in the right hands in the Crucible. That goes double if you build around its strengths. We'll show you the god rolls for both a PvE and PvP Pure Recollection in this guide.
Pure Recollection PvE god roll
The Pure Recollection is first and foremost a PvE-centric weapon, thanks in large part to its two-round burst firing mode. DPS phases usually entail a large boss standing in a single location for long periods, so extreme accuracy is less of an issue than it would be against enemy Guardians. As such, the PvE god roll focuses on maximizing output and improving the weapon's overall usability.
| Pure Recollection god roll - PvE | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Arrowhead Brake (+30 Recoil, +10 Handling) |
| Magazine | Extended Magazine(+2 rounds in the mag, +10 Airborne Effectiveness, -20 Reload Speed) |
| Perk 1 | Envious Arsenal (Dealing damage with other two weapons reloads this weapon from reserves.) |
| Perk 2 | Bait and Switch (Dealing damage with other two weapons grants this weapon increased damage after a hit for 10 seconds.) |
| Origin Trait | Roar of Battle (Being in combat for a short duration increases handling and stability.) |
| Masterwork | Handling (+10 Handling when maxed out.) |
| Mod | Backup Mag(Up to +4 additional rounds in the magazine when Enhanced.) |
This loadout is all about the synergy between Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch. They share identical prerequisites, meaning when you activate one, the other also procs. While a Shotgun like this one should primarily be your backup DPS weapon, having the Pure Recollection always topped up and dealing bonus damage is too good a combo to pass up.
The remaining perks are here to give Pure Recollection a higher output and more consistent feel. We're primarily concerned with getting the extra ammo and improving how quickly the weapon is to pull out and ready.
Pure Recollection PvP god roll
The Pure Recollection suffers in PvP for a lot of reasons, from its relatively weak perk pool for the Crucible and its two-round burst firing mode. If you can learn to tame the recoil pattern, you can get this Shotgun to almost 100 in its Range stat, making it a monster in the right hands.
| Pure Recollection god roll - PvP | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Honed Edge (+2 Impact) |
| Magazine | Ricochet Rounds (+5 Range, +10 Stability) |
| Perk 1 | High Impact Reserves (Increases damage as the magazine gets lower.) |
| Perk 2 | Closing Time (Increases damage as the magazine gets lower.) |
| Origin Trait | Roar of Battle (Being in combat for a short duration increases handling and stability.) |
| Masterwork | Range (+10 Range when maxed out.) |
| Mod | Enhanced Range (+10 Range at max.) |
Ideally, you'll only be getting headshots with the Pure Recollection in PvP, as those are an almost guaranteed one-shot from most shotgun distances. The perks and bonuses we've chosen are all there to increase that possibility, and while there's no way to cancel the second shot of the burst, both come out fast enough that you can aim for the body and probably do fine.
How to get Pure Recollection
With the final Monuments of Triumph update, there are two ways to get the Pure Recollection Shotgun: as a random drop at the end of Crucible matches or by purchasing it for a Crucible Engram and 15,000 Glimmer from Shaxx. If you want the highest Tier possible, you'll likely need to earn the weapon as a drop, because Shaxx's version uses your Power to set its Tier level.
You'll need to play Crucible either way, so you can double up on your drops of the Pure Recollection and all the other weapons as you go.
