What is the exact release time for 007 First Light?
007 First Light is close to releasing, but what's the exact release time? Find out here.
by John Schutt · Shacknews007 First Light has been a long time coming, but it’s finally close to releasing. We even know the exact release time, and while it’s near the end of May, being able to count down to launch can help (or worsen) our expectations for Bond’s next (first?) great outing.
The exact release time for 007 First Light
007 First Light releases on May 27, 2026, at precisely 11:00 AM Eastern/8:00 AM Pacific. Those are GMT-5 and GMT-8, respectively. If you want a clear countdown, head over to the official game website for a timer ticking its way to launch.
If you want some unlockable goodies for when you dive in for the first time, there are four editions of 007 First Light you can pre-order. Only the digital version gives you 24-hour early access, which means if you want to jump in on May 26, you can only purchase the game on Steam, Epic Games, the PlayStation Store, or the Xbox online store.
All the other editions require you to have a physical copy of the game, but the more expensive editions come with Steelcase game cases for both substance and style.
You shouldn’t need to worry about any pay-to-win issues, as the pre-order bonuses are entirely cosmetic — weapon and gadget skins, mostly. The Collector’s and Legendary editions come with real-world collectible items like a gilded mask (not actual gold) or a life-size figurine of the legendary Golden Gun.
007 First Light itself is a sort of origin story, pitting a younger version of the spy among spies against a shadowy cabal. Well-known allies like Moneypenny and Q make their return, as does Bond’s signature gadgetry, updated for the modern world.
As the game was made by IO Interactive, creators of the popular Hitman franchise, I’d expect lots of gameplay variety and freedom to experiment within missions. I also think there’ll be lots of cover-based combat if things spiral out of control, plus at least a few bits of wackiness the developers are known for.
