Sony's FY26 forecast shows ramp up in spending on PlayStation 6 console development

Sony's latest financial guidance includes expenses related to PS6 development.

Sony is out with its FY25 earnings release, and the company's Game & Network Services Segment FY26 forecast includes a mention of expenses related to the next PlayStation console. 

Sony says its Game & Network Services segment's "FY26 operating income forecast is essentially flat year-on-year, which is due to the incorporation of an increase in investments for the next-generation platform."

While this is not a confirmation of a PS6 release date or window, it is a signal that work has begun on ramping up development spend on the next PlayStation.
