How to unlock the Silkspear skill in Hollow Knight: Silksong

If you want to make progress, you will need this very useful skill in Hollow Knight: Silksong

The Silkspear is an early skill you can find in Hollow Knight: Silksong that is vital for making progress through the levels. Finding it can be difficult, however, as it is tucked away at the top of some of the maze-like areas. This is where to go to get it.

Where to find the Silkspear skill in Hollow Knight: Silksong

To find this skill, you will need to head to the very top of the Bone Bottom area. This is the settlement near the start of the game, and getting to the top of it is quite the journey. For those who have already done so and need the shrine location, you can see it marked on the map above.

For everyone who wishes to see the full route, the video below shows where to go from the bench in Bone Bottom to the shrine. I am assuming you will have one very important shortcut unlocked for this, as if you don't, you are definitely getting ahead of yourself looking for the Silkspear skill anyway.

If this is your first time through the area, you will need to contend with some traps that are tripped by breaking ropes as you move, enemies that spit globs of acid at you, and some seemingly possessed enemies that will attack relentlessly. Go slowly, and be careful.
