The ChatGPT creator is reportedly working with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley on an IPO.
by Donovan Erskine · ShacknewsOpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, may be gearing up to launch an IPO (Initial Public Offering). That’s according to a new report that claims the company is working with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as it prepares to go public.
The Wall Street Journal reported that OpenAI was planning to launch an IPO. The news comes after the AI company secured a favorable ruling in the lawsuit it was facing from Elon Musk. As reported by Investor’s Business Daily, OpenAI could make its IPO filing with regulators as soon as this Friday. With that, OpenAI could go public by September.
As a publicly traded company, OpenAI would see itself reporting its revenue and earnings on a quarterly basis as it answers to shareholders. It’d be a significant change from how the AI company currently operates, as it keeps most of its performance figures private.
