Samsung may be preparing to enter more deeply into the home PC market next year, as rumors suggest the company is working on an ARM-based “AI PC chip” that it intends to launch as early as next year.

The rumor of Samsung’s new PC chip came via Korean news outlet Nate, as spotted by PC Gamer. According to reports, Samsung has collaborated with ARM Holdings to design its new chip, which is being called “GAIA.” According to Seoul Economics Daily, Samsung is already speaking with potential PC manufacturer partners as it prepares to send the chip into full production in 2027.

Samsung is involved throughout a number of major tech ventures, but its biggest by far in the AI boom has been storage and memory components. As one of the world’s leading memory component companies, according to Forbes, Samsung’s recent quarterly earnings results show it’s doing more than well for itself, but it has relatively little footprint in the actual PC chip space.

Samsung has yet to formally introduce the GAIA chip, but with supposed plans to go ship it in new PCs in 2027, we expect an announcement won’t be far off. Stay tuned to the Samsung topic for more updates.
