SteelSeries launches 25th anniversary Sensei Pro & Rival Pro gaming mice

The new symmetrical Sensei Pro and ergonomic Rival Pro come in standard and mini sizes and are said to feature 'flawless true 8K' polling.

SteelSeries has launched a new set of its popular Sensei and Rival gaming mice in celebration of its 25th anniversary, and the new mice are bosting some of the peripheral maker’s best technology yet in terms of wireless connectivity, low latency, and powerful tracking.

SteelSeries released the new Sensei Pro and Rival Pro gaming mice on its website today. The mice come in white, black, standard size, and regular forms. The Sensei Pro is symmetrical in its grip for ambidextrous use while the Rival Pro is ergonomically built to mold to a right handed grip. All models come at a retail price of $179.99 USD. And while the mice are currently sold only at SteelSeries’ direct website, the mice will eventually sell at partnered retailers on October 13.

The major improvements highlighted in the SteelSeries Sensei Pro and Rival Pro mice are the polling rate and connectivity. Both mice use Ultra-Wideband (UWB) wireless on a spectrum of 6.4GHz-9.056GHz to avoid the cloggage of 2.4GHz occupied by most other wireless devices. SteelSeries claims this aids in a much cleaner transmission and allows the up-to-8,000Hz polling rate to actual perform to its true potential.
