by TJ Denzer · ShacknewsGrand Theft Auto 6’s release date is getting ever closer, and Netflix is now on deck to hype it up with the exclusive reveal of an Extended Look at the game. It will premiere exclusively on Netflix before going to other platforms a few hours later.
Rockstar Games and Netflix announced Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended look on social media this week, where Netflix shared the initial announcement. The premiere will run on the Netflix platform on August 27, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET, where subscribers will have the first look at it. Then, at 9 p.m. ET on the same day (August 27), the GTA 6 Extended Look will also air on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel.
It’s an interesting turn of events for GTA fans to wake up to, but Netflix has continually worked to keep a presence in the gaming space, regularly producing shows and movies based on hit series. Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 is next up on its slate and there is a Persona adaptation in the works as for the platform as well.
A Grand Theft Auto 6 premiere is a major get for Netflix, and we’ll be there when it happens to see what’s shown, so stay tuned to the GTA 6 topic for updates.
