How to find and use the mallet at Howling Hill in Crimson Desert
Whack a pole.
by Aidan O'Brien · ShacknewsThere are a great many small jobs to do in Crimson Desert, but setting up your camp at Howling Hill feels hard-earned and well-deserved. One of the things you will need to do is find and use a mallet, but as you have just arrived, you won't know where anything is. This is where to find the mallet, and how to use it.
How to find and use the mallet at Howling Hill in Crimson Desert
To find the mallet at Howling Hills, go to the table directly beside the huge gate that a number of NPCs are working on, and you can find the mallet there, beside some other tools. If you watch the nearby workers, you can "learn by watching" and pick up some information, and the mallet's name will pop up when you look at the tool, instead of just question marks.
Until you do this, the word mallet won't show up, as one of the odder aspects of Crimosn Desert is that your character doesn't seem to know what anything is until he looks at it for a while.
Now, the tent beside the table has four poles with four stakes beside them. Equip the mallet in your inventory by hovering over it and clicking A or the spacebar. Hit left on the D-pad or hold F2 to bring up your equipment wheel and take out the mallet. With the mallet in hand, hold the left shoulder button to aim in, then, when the blue sphere is over the stake, hit the attack button to swing it. Smash the stake a couple of times, then move on to the next one.
