How to exfil from Cryo Archive - Marathon

Extracting from Cryo Archive is more complicated than any other map in Marathon.

Cryo Archive exfils are much more involved than other maps in Marathon. Not only do you need to summon in the exfil (which spawns somewhere else on the map), you need to earn the right to even know where to begin the process.

How to exfil from Cryo Archive

To exfil from Cryo Archive, you must complete a series of tasks which then spawns an exfil point at a random location on the map. Here is what you need to do:

1. Reach Security Clearance 3
2. Interact with an Exfil Station
3. Locate and reach the Secret Exfil sight within 3 minutes

The first step is to reach Security Clearance 3 which requires 18 points of security. When you start a run on Cryo Archive, you will see your current Security Clearance Level in the top-right of your screen. Fill each segment to increase your clearance. You can increase your Security Clearance by:

• Collecting Security Tags from defeated UESC or found around rooms
• Interacting with Security Clearance Monitors

You will need to acquire 18 points of security to reach Level 3. While you can theoretically do this by slaying UESC robots and activating the Security panels, you may find it quicker to hit Level 3 by killing other players and taking their Security Tags.

Once you have Security Level 3, locate one of the Exfil Stations – use our Cryo Archive map to find them. At the station, interact with it to summon a Secret Exfil. These always spawn at the very edges of the map and will last for three minutes. Reach the Secret Exfil, stand in the ring for 10 seconds, and then you’ll be clear of Cryo Archive. Note that there are reports that only one Secret Exfil can be active at once.

Beyond using this method to exfil, there are apparently final exfils that spawn, but they’re not marked on the map. Additionally, if you’re fighting the Compiler, it seems as though there are other opportunities to exfil during the fight. For most players, though, these Secret Exfils using the Exfil Stations will be the main way to get out of dodge.
