A Bikur Cholim Breakfast You Don’t Want to Miss
In a community that runs on non-stop energy and a whirlwind of chesed, there is one morning a year where the women of Crown Heights pause to recognize the profound, behind-the-scenes work of Bikur Cholim, whose acts of kindness go mostly unnoticed, except by the families whose lives depend on them.

You are warmly invited to the Annual Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Bikur Cholim of Crown Heights Women’s Breakfast, this Sunday, 23 Sivan / May 10. It is set to be an uplifting morning that celebrates the strength of our community and the profound ways we carry each other with kindness in times of crisis. This year’s breakfast is dedicated in loving memory of Mrs. Itu Lustig a”h, one of Bikur Cholim’s original members and a true pioneer of community kindness.
This year, we have the profound honor of welcoming Mrs. Manya Lazaroff, Shlucha to Texas A&M University, for a highly anticipated keynote address. Manya will be sharing the harrowing, emotional, and ultimately miraculous story of her son’s survival and healing after he was shot in the horrific Bondi Beach Massacre. Her firsthand account of navigating unimaginable trauma—and how her family was quite literally Carried by Kindness through the outpouring of community love—will capture the central theme of this year’s event.
To celebrate our community’s enduring continuity of care, the morning will feature the exclusive premiere of a new documentary. This powerful film traces Bikur Cholim’s roots from its founding to the present day, illustrating the true heart and life-changing impact of the organization.
If you’ve attended in the past, get ready for a completely reimagined experience. Due to the overwhelming and beautifully growing crowd, we are thrilled to debut a brand-new program format and an expanded, upgraded seating setup. Expect a lavish, beautifully curated breakfast spread, plus more room and time to connect with friends.
While the morning is a celebration of our collective impact, it is also a vital moment to shine a spotlight on the heroes among us. This year it is our honor to recognize the extraordinary impact of Mrs. Esther Blau, a tireless advocate for local patients, alongside Mrs. Chana Marinovsky, whose exemplary chesed uplift our entire community. We invite you to join us in honoring these remarkable women alongside the army of Bikur Cholim’s dedicated volunteers and donors who operate behind the scenes—coordinating hot meals, arranging hospital transport, providing critical financial relief, and ensuring that over 300 families were lovingly supported through their challenging ordeals this past year alone.
And, you don’t have to be in the room to be part of the magic! Our highly anticipated Auction is packed with incredible, luxurious prizes, including two custom shaitels, fabulous jewelry and exclusive vacation packages. Everyone, everywhere can participate and partner in Bikur Cholim’s life-saving work. Auction proceeds will go directly toward easing the immense financial and emotional burden of families navigating medical emergencies.
Come for the celebration, stay for the unforgettable inspiration, and leave knowing you’ve made a tangible difference.
