by COLlive Editor · COLliveThis past Shabbos, the entire Oholei Torah Beis Medrash, including 542 Bochurim from both the Raitport and Michelashvili Beis Medrash divisions, together with the Hanhala, Mashpiim, and their families, gathered for an unforgettable Shabbos Achdus at the scenic Bushkill Inn & Conference Center in Pennsylvania. With approximately 650 participants, the Shabbaton had a remarkable Chayus.
Upon arriving Friday afternoon, the Bochurim were welcomed with a beautiful Toameha. Between Mincha and Kabolas Shabbos, Bochurim enjoyed learning together with their Mashpiim and members of the Hanhala, beginning the Shabbos with meaningful connections through Torah and Chassidus.
Throughout Shabbos, the Bochurim experienced uplifting Davening, beautiful Seudos featuring inspiring words from members of the Hanhala and Bochurim, and heartfelt Farbrengens that continued into the early morning hours, some until nearly 4:00 a.m. Farbrengens resumed on Shabbos afternoon, offering Bochurim further opportunities to connect with their Mashpiim in a relaxed and personal setting. A beautiful breakfast, along with coffee, cake, and refreshments available throughout Shabbos, added to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the Shabbaton was a special Motzaei Shabbos question and answer session with the Mashpiim, moderated by Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig. Bochurim anonymously submitted questions, allowing the Mashpiim to address meaningful topics and share thoughtful guidance and Chassidishe perspectives.
The Shabbaton concluded with a spirited Melaveh Malka, bringing both Beis Medrash divisions together for lively singing and dancing with Yossi Cohen, who joined the group for Shabbos. Hundreds of Bochurim united in song and dance until approximately 10 p.m., creating an extraordinary atmosphere of Achdus and joy.
Adding a special dimension to the Shabbaton was the participation of 22 staff families, who enjoyed a dedicated family program with private meals and a fully stocked children’s playroom, allowing the families to enjoy a beautiful Shabbos while the Mashpiim and Hanhala participated in the Bochurim’s programs.
Behind the scenes, the Shabbaton was a tremendous logistical undertaking, involving 14 buses, more than 20 pallets of food and supplies filling three trucks! Every detail, from transportation and accommodations to the beautifully prepared meals, reflected the care and dedication of the Oholei Torah staff.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Rabbi Yisroel Cohen of the Oholei Torah Administration Office, together with a devoted team of Bochurim, for coordinating this remarkable undertaking. Special appreciation is extended to R’ Moshe Reichman and the entire Oholei Torah Kitchen Staff for preparing the tremendous amount of food, Shmeilach Rosenfeld and Shaina Rosenfeld for their dedication to service and operations, and Mrs. Chumie Schochet and Mendel Teleshevsky for their invaluable assistance with transportation.
Their combined efforts ensured that this extraordinary Shabbos was not only beautifully organized, but deeply meaningful, leaving hundreds of Bochurim uplifted, reenergized, and united in the true spirit of Oholei Torah.
As the buses pulled out of Bushkill, the only question the Bochurim were asking was, “When can we do this again?”
