The remarkable scenes show the enormous scale of Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim’s Tishrei operation. In a special video, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hendel thanks the donors who make it possible — as Eshel calls on more partners to help cover the tremendous cost of feeding the Rebbe’s guests.

The sight is difficult to capture in a single photograph.

Row after row of tables fill the massive Sukkahs of Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim, as thousands of guests who came from around the world to spend Tishrei with the Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, sit down for their Yom Tov meals.

For the guests, it is a warm meal and a place to sit.

Behind the scenes, however, every plate is part of an enormous operation.

Throughout Tishrei, Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim operates large dining facilities just minutes from 770, serving thousands of meals to the Rebbe’s guests. A massive Sukkah serves the thousands of bochurim, while separate facilities provide for girls, couples and families.

The scale can be seen in the accompanying photographs: thousands of guests, long rows of tables, and a Hachnosas Orchim operation working day after day to ensure that those who came to spend Tishrei with the Rebbe have their physical needs taken care of.

But behind every table, every tray and every meal stands another essential part of the operation:
The donors who make it possible.

In a special video published together with the photos, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hendel, chairman of Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim, pauses amid the tremendous Tishrei activity to express his heartfelt appreciation to the Crown Heights community and to the supporters who enable Eshel to care for the Rebbe’s guests.

His message of thanks comes as the tremendous expenses of Tishrei continue to mount.

The Rebbe repeatedly expressed his appreciation for those involved in Hachnosas Orchim for the Tishrei guests, referring to the guests as “my guests.” The Rebbe spoke of the great Nachas Ruach generated by those who arrange their food, drink and accommodations, enabling them to spend their time with Menuchas Hanefesh and Menuchas Haguf.

This is not only a massive operation to admire.
It is a Mitzvah in which every person can take part.
