Rubashkin’s Massive Sukkah Opens for Tishrei Guests

The mega-sukkah is up, the kitchens are bustling, the Orchim are in – Crown Heights’ biggest hachnasas orchim operation is in full swing.

Most of us know Moshe Rubashkin.

We know his smile, his warmth, and the way he has a knack for making people feel at home.

But how did Moshe get into all of this?

It starts with something very simple: the Rebbe’s guests.

Every year, Yidden come to Crown Heights to be near the Rebbe, to spend Yom Tov, and to experience the special feeling of being in the Rebbe’s Daled Amos.

And when the Rebbe’s guests come, someone has to take care of them.

There has to be a warm meal waiting.

There has to be a place to sit.

There has to be someone making sure that every guest feels welcome.

For Moshe, that became his shlichus.

What began as a way of taking care of the Rebbe’s guests grew, little by little, into something much bigger.

More guests came.

More meals had to be prepared.

More work had to be done.

And eventually, his friend Eli Shlosberg had the idea for the name that says it all:
The Rebbe’s Kich.

Walk into the kitchen and you can feel what it’s about.

There is food being prepared, people working, and a lot happening behind the scenes.

But at the heart of it is something very simple: taking care of a Yid.

That is what hachnosas orchim is all about.

And that is what makes this project so special.

The Rebbe’s Kich isn’t just Moshe’s kitchen.

It is a place created for the Rebbe’s guests—and in that sense, it is something that all of us can be a part of.

Because not everyone can be in the kitchen.

Not everyone can prepare the food.

Not everyone can greet every guest at the door.

But we can all help make it happen.

A kitchen like this takes more than good intentions. It takes food, supplies, equipment, and the financial support to keep everything running.

And that is where we come in.
When you give to The Rebbe’s Kich, you become part of the hachnosas orchim.

You become part of welcoming the Rebbe’s guests.

You become part of making sure that a Yid who comes to Crown Heights has a warm meal and a place where he feels at home.

You may never see the meal your donation helped provide.

You may never know the name of the guest who sat at that table.

Moshe has taken the responsibility of caring for the Rebbe’s guests and turned it into a daily reality.

Now we have the opportunity to stand behind him.
