For teens and adults with special needs who may not have access to local Friendship Circle programming, friendship is coming right to their screens this winter.

Friendship Circle Online is opening registration for its four day Virtual Winter Camp, bringing interactive activities, meaningful connections, and a whole lot of winter fun into homes across the country.
Recently, Friendship Circle Online received a rather unusual request from a father: Could we please stop offering four programs in one evening? His son simply wouldn’t stop joining them!
A mother shared how the leadership opportunities her stepson was given during FCO programs had impacted him. “You gave him his dignity,” she told us. She went on to share how he couldn’t stop talking to his brother about the experience, something especially meaningful because the two don’t usually interact much.
And just recently, a participant who helps lead FCO’s Bingo program sent a simple but powerful email: “You had faith in me.”
These are just a few glimpses into what happens every day at Friendship Circle Online.
For many teens and adults with special needs, opportunities for meaningful social connection aren’t always easy to come by. Some live far from local Friendship Circle chapters, while others face challenges attending in-person programs.
Friendship Circle Online (FCO) is working to bridge that gap, creating a welcoming virtual community where participants can build friendships, discover new interests, take on meaningful roles, and experience the joy of belonging, no matter where they live.
This winter, FCO is bringing that same warmth and energy to its Virtual Winter Camp, taking place December 27–30, from 12:30–3:00 PM EST.
The four day camp will bring together teens and adults with special needs for afternoons filled with cozy winter-themed activities, interactive experiences, mitzvah moments, and opportunities to connect with friends, both old and new.
At FCO, the goal is to create an experience where you almost forget you’re on Zoom. Every participant is noticed, welcomed, and encouraged to take part in a way that works for them. Whether someone is joining a group activity, trying something new, or stepping into a leadership role, there is room for everyone to contribute and shine.
People sometimes wonder whether you can really build friendships online. But at Friendship Circle Online, we’re doing what many would call virtually impossible.
We’re fostering true friendships online.
If you know someone who spends a lot of time at home, has difficulty getting out to programs, will be on winter break, or could simply benefit from a few afternoons of fun, friendship, and meaningful connection, we’d be honored to welcome them into our circle.
