One week after being left in a vehicle, four-month-old Chaim ben Chaya Mushka of Kfar Chabad, who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, was discharged home today in what many are calling a remarkable miracle. His parents expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thank you to everyone for the prayers.”

As previously reported, the infant was transported on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 3, to the Shamir–Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in serious condition after, according to his family, he had been left in a vehicle for an extended period of time.

The Chabad community was asked to intensify prayers and recite Tehillim on behalf of the child, Chaim ben Chaya Mushka.

MDA motorcycle unit paramedics Shmuel Gelbstein and Moshe Gelbstein, together with senior MDA medic Yossi Nabul, said at the time:

“When we arrived, we were led to the infant, who was in a diminished state of consciousness after remaining in a closed vehicle for an extended period. During our initial assessment, we found that he was extremely hot to the touch. We provided emergency medical treatment and evacuated him by MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious and unstable condition.”

United Hatzalah’s Kfar Chabad branch head Chaim Meir Friedman, along with EMTs Eli Turnheim, Itzik Schiff, and Chaim Rivkin, also reported:

“We were told at the scene that the infant had been forgotten in a vehicle and had remained there for an extended period. We provided initial medical assistance before he was transported to the hospital unconscious and in critical condition.”

Baruch Hashem, the parents announced today that their son has been discharged home healthy and well.

“Thank G-d for the miracles,” they said.

United Hatzalah again urged the public to follow all safety precautions and never leave children unattended in vehicles, even for a moment. The organization also encouraged people to remain vigilant during the summer months and check parked vehicles to ensure that no children have been inadvertently left inside.
