The 46th International Rambam Celebration, the Siyum HaRambam HaOlami, will take place b’ezras Hashem on Sunday, Beis Shevat, January 10, 2027, at the Bedford Union Armory in Crown Heights. Anash and communities from across the region will gather to celebrate the daily Rambam learning the Rebbe established in 5744.

This year, the siyum falls in the days leading to Yud Shevat, and the closeness is fitting. The Rebbe spoke about the Siyum HaRambam many times over the years, as cycle after cycle drew to a close. One of those occasions was the Shabbos right after Yud Shevat 5746, a few weeks before the second cycle concluded.

That Shabbos, the Rebbe called for good resolutions to add in the path of the Frierdiker Rebbe, whose hilula had just been marked. The Rebbe specifically called for strengthening Torah study, public shiurim, and especially the daily shiurim in the Rambam’s Mishneh Torah.

The Rebbe went on to say that since the siyum was only weeks away, it was time to prepare, as the Gemara (Beitzah 2b) teaches that an important matter needs preparation.

Furthermore, the Rebbe said “A siyum on even one masechta calls for a celebration, even more so a siyum on the Rambam, which the Rambam himself calls a compilation of the entire Oral Torah. Yidden have long held such a siyum publicly, “b’rov am hadras Melech,” for the King’s glory is in a multitude of people.”

The Rebbe further explained “The Rambam’s work has its own link to hadras Melech, too: many of its commentators put “Melech” in the names of their seforim, among them the Mishneh LaMelech, the Shaar HaMelech and the Yad HaMelech. Its siyum must certainly be b’rov am hadras Melech, with the widest publicity and great splendor.”

In light of the above, the organizers are already at work on what they hope will be the largest Siyum HaRambam yet, and they’ve taken the call to prepare to heart: this notice is going out well ahead so everyone can plan to be there. They thanked the Crown Heights community, whose turnout and support have grown the siyum year after year. This year every detail is being planned for the dignity the occasion calls for, while bringing in as many people as possible.

Coming in the days before Yud Shevat, the siyum is a chance to strengthen our hiskashrus to the Rebbe, the baal hatakanah, who spoke of the daily Rambam again and again.

Mark the date. Come with your family, and bring friends and neighbors along. B’rov am is measured in people, and every person who walks in adds to the hadras Melech.

Together, let us make this year’s siyum a gathering of b’rov am hadras Melech and a true expression of achdus Yisroel.

The Mishneh Torah itself ends with royalty: its last chapters, in Hilchos Melachim, set out the laws of Melech HaMoshiach. May the preparation and unity surrounding this siyum bring us to the ultimate hadras Melech, with the coming of Moshiach, speedily in our days.
