Over 30 Hours of Yud Tes Kislev Farbrengens at Tomchei Temimim
At Tomchei Temimim – Chovevei Zal, The month of Kislev was permeated with warmth and vibrancy. Following a series of Farbrengens throughout Kislev, the month reached its powerful climax with more than thirty hours of Farbrengens held across Yud Tes and Chof Kislev.
by COLlive Editor · COLliveThe tone for the month was set at the very outset with an inspiring Rosh Chodesh Kislev Farbrengen led by Rabbi Yossi Paltiel, which left a lasting impression and energized the Yeshiva for the weeks that followed. In addition, Shiur-based Farbrengens were held throughout the month, led by Rabbi Klyne, Rabbi Dexter, Rabbi Korf, Rabbi Sternberg and Rabbi Zirkind, including Thursday nights and Yud Kislev and more.
Yud Daled Kislev was celebrated with a festive Seudah and Farbrengen, featuring the Mara D’asra of Crown Heights, Rabbi Yosef Braun. His heartfelt words and penetrating insights deeply inspired the Bochurim, and the Farbrengen continued for many hours beyond its formal conclusion.
The arrival of Yud Tes Kislev itself brought the month to its peak. From the very beginning of Yom Tov, the Bochurim and Yeshiva staff fully immersed themselves in the spirit of the day, seizing every opportunity to Farbreng and absorb its message.
Monday Night:
The Yom Tov began organically, with a spontaneous Farbrengen during Seder Girsa that set a powerful tone. This was followed by a joyous and festive Seudas Yom Tov in the Yeshiva Zal, led by the Roshei Yeshiva and Mashpiim.
During the central Seudah on Monday night, a special Siyum HaShas was held by Rabbi Shachne Zirkind, who serves as a Maggid Shiur and Mashpia. Rabbi Zirkind, who has completed Shas numerous times in the past, marked this Siyum as a unique milestone, having completed the entire Shas with Tosafos, an accomplishment that brought great inspiration and excitement to the Bochurim.
Singing and dancing filled the hall, accompanied by the uplifting music of Choni Tzuker and Nachmi Hecht. Later that night, Rabbi Winner joined the Mashpiim for a Farbrengen that continued straight through until the morning.
Tuesday
After visiting the Ohel, the Bochurim Farbrenged together with Rabbi Yisroel Labkowsky, Rabbi Benyomin Baras and Rabbi Shachne Zirkind. That evening, each Shiur held its own Seudah and Farbrengen with its Mashpia in the homes of the Mashpiim. These smaller, more personal Farbrengens fostered more open discussion and connection, continuing until the morning.
Wednesday
At 3:45 PM, the Mashpiim, Hanhala, and Bochurim gathered once again for the concluding Farbrengen of Yud Tes Kislev, which extended until 2:00 AM, reflecting on how to carry the inspiration of the Yom Tov forward — strengthening their commitment to the learning of Chassidus and to living a Chassidishe day-to-day life.
The Farbrengens of Kislev were far more than uplifting moments. They will leave a lasting imprint that will continue to guide and inspire the Bochurim in the months and years ahead.
