The brainchild of Rabbi Shaya Itkin, the Torah Champ program (which focuses on Chumash and Gemara mastery in the younger and older grades, respectively) is an innovative extracurricular program designed to really give students the skills and tools to independently tackle a Passuk in Chumash or a piece of Gemara independently, incentivized with levels, rewards, and a grand trip at the end of the year. Throughout the year, students climb levels as they learn Pesukim of Chumash and lines of Gemara, gaining familiarity, confidence, and skills for independent learning.
On Tuesday, over 100 Talmidim of the boys school who reached level 4 had the opportunity to display how much they’d learned at the Torah Champ Farher, presided over by Mara D’Asra Rabbi Boruch Lesches, Executive Director Rabbi Dovid Brawer, and Principal Rabbi Shaya Itkin. The boys confidently answered question after question, displaying their mastery of large sections of Chumash and Gemara. We wish them much continued Hatzlacha in their learning this year and beyond- as they take the skills and tools they’ve acquired and continue to grow in their learning.
