Online Mesivta and Cheder Changing Lives
Online Mesivta and Cheder is changing the lives of children and teens with both full day options and tutoring.
by COLlive Admin · COLliveFor the past seven years, Online Cheder and Mesivta, TorahChinuch.com, has worked tirelessly to ensure that every child succeeds with a Torah‑true education. Staff work closely with each talmid to ensure they understand Gemara, Halacha, and every other aspect of Torah in a way that is meaningful, inspiring, and deeply connected to Hashem — with practical relevance to their daily lives. This approach not only helps students internalize the Gemara, its concepts and its language, but also motivates them to appreciate Hashem and to make Torah the foundation of their lives.
Gemara is taught with real‑life, practical examples. After learning a sugya, students explore real scenarios that demonstrate how Hashem’s Infinite Wisdom brings true fairness and compassion into the world — in ways no human system can. A favorite example is the discussion after learning the avos nezikin: students are asked which of the four categories car damages fall into. (Hint: depending on the circumstances, they can fall into all four.) Again and again, the underlying reasons for the laws of nezikin — and their real‑world impact — are made clear.
Chinuch Focused on Changing Lives
Most of all, our mission is to change lives. By giving each talmid the clarity, knowledge of key Torah concepts and by teaching with a personal connection, we emphasize their value and real connection to Hashem in a way they may never have experienced elsewhere.
Our method helps children and teens build their confidence in learning, rediscover their potential, know their value and chart a path toward a life filled with Torah, purpose and genuine joy. When a child finally understands Torah in a way that speaks to them, everything changes — their davening, their middos, their sense of self, and their excitement for learning. This is the kind of transformation that lasts a lifetime.
Avodas HaTefilla and personal connection with Hashem are emphasized. Talmidim learn what to review and think about before davening, right before davening, and again during davening — making the words they say have true impact on themselves, their lives, and those around them.
Both Full Day Options & Tutoring – Allowing All to Benefit
The Mesivta and Cheder offers these same methods after hours with one-on-one tutoring that completely changes the student with one-on-one tutoring that helps talmidim gain clarity, confidence, and real enjoyment in learning.
All interested in enrolling or in tutoring should email onlinecheder@gmail.com, visit TorahChinuch.com, or call 917‑830‑3364. Boys’ classes run from ages 10–16, with younger classes offered based on demand. A separate girls’ program is available as well, starting at 6 years old.
Unique Methods and Unmatched Results
The methods described above are essential in motivating talmidim to:
- Want to learn Gemara
- Put in the effort needed to remember the language
- See the Torah for what it truly is — Hashem’s guidance in all matters of life, with real and practical implications
- Feel motivated to dedicate their lives to learning and spreading the G‑Dliness of Torah, seeing firsthand how it leads to a better world
Central to learning is discussion, analysis of the sugya, and learning the actual Halacha after Gemara, Rashi, and applicable Tosfos. Mastering the sugya — and understanding how and why the laws matter — is the key. Talmidim thrive and develop a genuine love of learning, in contrast to methods that rely on tedious exercises which may, chas v’sholom, discourage a talmid.
Before joining the full‑day online Cheder and Mesivta, many talmidim had struggled in other schools — some because they were advanced and bored, needing deeper discussion and clear explanation; others because they were struggling and left behind. That does not happen in our Cheder.
The administrator and teachers give of their time after class whenever necessary. No child is left behind — this is our core mission.
The Results Are Clear
Parents see the results immediately! As one parent, Reb Ariel Andreasen, said:
“The only way my son was ready to succeed in Mesivta was through two years of your cheder. You’ve provided a place that, to the best of my knowledge, no one in the world does. I hope many others will benefit from what you offer.”
Parents Mr. and Mrs. Dov Ber and Alta Kasmin write:
“We can’t believe the love of learning and advancement in Torah that our children have had in your cheder. The table at home is now filled with Divrei Torah. They are more eager than ever to start the new year, and we can hardly believe how much they’ve grown.”
Seven years ago, the Cheder and Mesivta were founded by R’ Yomin Postelnik and a core group of chinuch activists who wanted to provide a real chinuch in which talmidim would graduate knowing Gemara and possessing strong hashkafa. He continues to serve as administrator, having previously served in that role at Yeshivas Chok L’Yisroel and as a leading teacher. His koach hahasbara is well known to those who attend his classes at Tzemach Tzedek Shul, AQM Chabad, Zera Shimshon Global, and various seminaries and yeshivos. R’ Sholom Kopel teaches Klalei HaShas and brings deep clarity to every subject.
This year, the Mesivta and Cheder will, B’Ezras Hashem, be infused with young energy and passion for chinuch. R’ Moshe A. Rubanowitz, who has led chaburas in Yerushalayim and New York, plans to take a lead role. He is young, capable, and connects with today’s youth in powerful and authentic ways. R’ Shua Schwartz and R’ Shneor Zalman Tevel are passionate about motivating and developing students one talmid at a time. R’ Zev Edelstein brings a deep passion for chinuch and will serve as a guidance mentor for talmidim who can bebenefit.
