A Sukkos Where No One Is Forgotten

Chabad of Tamarac, Florida's Sukkah Mobile, led by Rabbi Mendy Engel and an incredible team of volunteers, make their way through Tamarac, FL, spreading Sukkos joy wherever they go.

A Lulav and Esrog is brought to the bedside of a 100-year-old Holocaust survivor, who joyously shakes the Lulav alongside the young volunteers.

A Sukkah Mobile equipped with a ramp parks outside many an old age home, offering a wheelchair-friendly way to experience the mitzvah.

Another initiative of Chabad of Tamarac, the Sukkah Mobile is led by Rabbi Mendy Engel and an incredible team of volunteers. Together, they make their way through Tamarac, FL, spreading Sukkos joy wherever they go. Along the way, they distribute Jewish calendars and copies of The Lamplighter, Chabad of Tamarac’s weekly publication. Even pouring rain couldn’t stop these dedicated volunteers from bringing the mitzvah to those who might otherwise be missed.

Every year, the Sukkah Mobile travels the same Tamarac streets, yet somehow finds new visitors each time, each with their own stories and sentiments.

Like the gentleman who came aboard as the Sukkah approached his neighborhood.

“Rabbi, after the holiday, if you come back around, we can do the wrap” (Tefillin).

So inspired by the mitzvah that had quite literally fallen into his lap, he asked for more.

Or the homebound woman who, after performing the mitzvah herself, sat outside in her wheelchair, pointing out every door she knew was inhabited by a fellow Jew. At last, she had a way to participate, helping bring the mitzvah to others in her community.

A Sukkos where no one is forgotten.
