Live: Lag B’Omer Rally Celebrating 50 Years of 12 Pesukim
Watch Live at 12:15 PM ET: Thousands of children will gather at Maple St. Park in Crown Heights to celebrate Lag B’omer, a spectacle of joy, energy, and Jewish unity.
by COLlive Editor · COLliveFor over 80 years, the NCFJE has been organizing a children’s program on Lag B’Omer.
This year the program takes on special meaning, as it will highlight 50 years since the Rebbe introduced the 12 pesukim during Shnas HaChinuch.
2 street fairs will be free for the whole community, thanks to generous sponsors MASK and IDCC.
From 2pm-6pm, families with older children can enjoy rides and games outside ULY on Crown & Albany, and younger children on Lefferts & NY Ave outside All My Children.
In Hayom Yom, the Rebbe writes that Lag B’Omer was always a special day by Chassidim, so much so that they would wait the entire year looking forward to Lag B’Omer, when they would go out to the field and great miracles would occur, especially in regard to children.
It is considered a great zchus to contribute to the expenses of Lag B’Omer celebrations and it is tied to many segulos.
The Gemora says, “כדאי ר’ שמעון לסמוך עליו בשעת הדחק”, and the Rebbe once wrote to Rabbi JJ Hecht A”H regarding supporting the parades, “וזכות הרשב”י ה”ה גדולה במאוד מאוד”
Take part in the Simcha of Rashbi by contributing to the expenses of the Rebbe’s Lag B’Omer rally by visiting https://raisethon.com/lagbomer . Names of all who contribute will be brought to the Ohel on the special day of Lag B’Omer.
