Cheder Menachem of Long Island, founded ‘Al Taharas Hakodesh’, provides a warm and supportive environment where talmidim are encouraged to grow in their learning, Chassidishkeit, and personal development. With small class sizes and dedicated Rebbis, the Cheder strives to ensure that every talmid feels supported and encouraged to reach his potential.

The Cheder’s new initiatives, led by Principal Rabbi Yisrael Faiden and Assistant Principal & Program Director Rabbi Meir Cohen, are off to a great start this school year. Together, they have introduced several programs designed to enrich learning, strengthen connections between talmidim, and encourage positive growth.

Among the new programs is Project Tomim, an MEF-based social-emotional curriculum that helps talmidim develop important skills for everyday life and their interactions with others.

The new Ach Gadol program pairs older and younger boys for chavrusa learning, reading practice, and sharing stories. The program encourages older talmidim to take responsibility and serve as positive role models while building meaningful connections with the younger boys.

The Cheder is also expanding its Tzivos Hashem and Chidon programs, using positive reinforcement to encourage participation and achievement. Chidon participants are rewarded with a special pizza lunch following tests, while Tzivos Hashem activities earn talmidim additional Tomim points, which they can use to purchase prizes in the Cheder’s special prize store.

Looking ahead, additional mivtzaim are planned, including a special initiative for the seventh- and eighth-grade boys encouraging them to complete their daily Chitas and Rambam, learn a sicha, improve their davening, and strengthen their daily Chassidishe routines.

These initiatives reflect the Cheder’s ongoing commitment to helping each talmid grow, achieve, and feel proud of his progress. By combining meaningful learning opportunities with encouragement, recognition, and a strong sense of community, Cheder Menachem continues to find new ways to bring out the best in every boy.
