Six Major Upgrades Make Chayenu Better Than Ever for 5787

A groundbreaking Chumash, a fresh design, new sections and revamped digital platforms will transform the Chayenu learning experience.  

As Jews around the world prepare for the new year, many are looking for ways to strengthen their commitment to Torah study. This year, starting from Parshas Noach, Chayenu is giving readers even more to look forward to. With an expanded lineup of daily and weekly learning resources, the popular publication is making it easier than ever to begin the new year with a stronger, more consistent commitment to Torah study. 

“At the start of a new year, we ask Hashem for blessings in every area of our lives. Daily Torah study serves as a conduit for profound spiritual and material blessings,” says Chayenu Editor-in-Chief Rabbi Itzick Yarmush. “Chayenu has been honored to accompany thousands of people in their daily Torah study for many years, and these new offerings will make that experience even richer.”

The first and most significant upgrade is a groundbreaking new Chumash, the first of its kind. Featuring a clear, engaging translation, its innovative format places each posuk together with Rashi and Onkelos, creating a smooth and seamless flow for daily study.

The content breaks new ground as well. The translations of both the pesukim and Rashi incorporate the Rebbe’s teachings and insights, together with explanations drawn from many classic commentaries, all presented in a clear and accessible style.

The Chumash is a joint project of Chayenu and Chabad House Publications. It was adapted and edited by Rabbi Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky and compiled by Rabbi Alter Eliyahu Friedman, with Rabbi Chaim N. Cunin serving as general editor.

The new Chumash is exclusively available to Chayenu print subscribers.

The second upgrade is a fresh new look. A cleaner layout and clearly defined sections will make the publication easier to navigate. Daily Study, with a study for each day of the week, Weekly Study, with one selection for the week, and additional material will appear in a separate Additions section. The result: more time learning and less time searching for what you need.

The third change may be the most immediately noticeable: Chayenu is getting a new size. Every week, thousands of Chayenus are passed from hand to hand, used again and again, and carried in tallis bags, cars and shuls. Its thoughtfully updated dimensions will preserve that portability and versatility while providing more room for the Torah content readers love.

Of course, a new year also brings new sections. As its fourth upgrade, Chayenu is introducing new content:

“Oneness in the Parsha” will offer a fascinating exploration of Divine unity (achdus hashem) as expressed in each week’s parsha. “The English Letters,”  prepared for press by Sichos in English, will feature letters from the Lubavitcher Rebbe from the early years of his leadership, which were originally written in English and reflect the Rebbe’s devotion and care for every Jew, and his commitment to strengthening Jewish life. “The Name of the Parsha,” first published in the highly acclaimed Gutnick Chumash, will present the Rebbe’s insights into the name of each Torah portion and the lessons it contains.

The final two upgrades will significantly expand Chayenu’s digital offerings. A new website will serve as a one-stop destination for most of Chayenu’s daily and weekly learning sections, along with original Torah study sections available exclusively online.

The Chayenu app is also receiving a complete overhaul, with an all-new design, intuitive navigation and enhanced viewing modes. The upgraded app will include two new features: thousands of notes. Chumash notes, featuring Rabbi Moore’s commentary, which was previously only available in the Chayenu print Chumash, and in a collaboration with Chabad.org, the app will include Rambam Notes, the extensive footnotes found in the Moznaim Rambam.
