71 tertiary students join SAINS ICT Awareness Day
by Churchill Edward · Borneo Post OnlineKUCHING (Nov 30): Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) yesterday hosted the ICT Awareness Day 2024, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at enhancing ICT knowledge and promoting awareness of key digital technologies and services.
Some 71 students from institutions including Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus and i-CATS University College participated.
SAINS in a statement said over the course of the two-hour event, participants explored a range of exciting topics, including cybersecurity awareness with helpful tips on staying safe online, as well as the innovative AI-powered GPT Virtual Assistant ‘Dayang’ and how it is changing daily interactions.
“Attendees also explored the immersive world of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies, gaining valuable insights into their real-world applications,” it added.
The sharing session concluded with a look at Sarawak ID and Talikhidmat, highlighting the important benefits of these essential digital services in everyday life.
“Participants enjoyed the chance to learn from experts and connect with others, leaving with valuable knowledge and a renewed excitement for the future of digital technology,” said SAINS.
