Aidilfitri event brings cheer to asnaf families in Samarahan
by Desiree David · Borneo Post OnlineKOTA SAMARAHAN (April 10): A total of 20 underprivileged families received ‘duit raya’ (festive cash aid) during the Samarahan Division’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering here.
The contributions were presented by State Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who is Asajaya assemblyman.
The event, held at Dewan Suarah Kota Samarahan, welcomed members of the public, who enjoyed a variety of food and refreshments at booths set up by participating agencies.
A total of 15 government agencies took part in the event, each operating their own stalls.
The programme featured festive video presentations, a lucky draw and entertainment performances.
Prizes were also awarded for the best booth.
Held in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration, the event brought together the community in a warm and festive atmosphere.
Also present was Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang, who is Kota Samarahan MP.
