MSU College Group celebrates 509 graduates at 29th Convocation Ceremony
by Nurin Abdullah · Borneo Post OnlineKUALA LUMPUR (Dec 23): The MSU College Group (MSUC) recently marked a significant milestone with the successful hosting of its 29th Convocation Ceremony at Chancellor Hall, Management and Science University (MSU) campus, Shah Alam, celebrating the academic achievements of 509 graduates.
The graduating cohort comprised 267 diploma graduates and 242 certificate graduates from MSU College campuses nationwide, reflecting the institution’s continued commitment to accessible and industry-relevant education.
The ceremony was graced by MSU President and Founder, Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab. Yajid, alongside MSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid, as well as senior management members from the MSU Group of Colleges and MSU.
In recognising excellence beyond academic performance, MSUC conferred three categories of excellence awards to six outstanding graduates for their overall achievements in academics and soft skills.
The prestigious Mohd Shukri Yajid Award was presented to Dayang Izati Mohd Izan, a Diploma in Management graduate from MSU College Sabah.
Meanwhile, four graduates received the Academic Award: Tengku Noratiqaf Ab. Raseb (Diploma in Management, MSU College Terengganu), Muhammad Shahrul A Halim (Diploma in Information Technology, MSU College Terengganu), Nursalsabila Syafiah Rusmiat Sufian (Diploma in Culinary Arts, MSU College Shah Alam) and Ahmad Irfan Farhan Ahmad Fadhlan (Certificate in Digital Photography, MSU College Shah Alam).
The Industry Award went to Muhammad Afif Zulkifli, a Diploma in Graphic Design graduate from MSU College Seremban.
As a satellite college of Management and Science University, MSU College Group plays a vital role in expanding educational access while producing competent and versatile graduates, with a strong emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The institution’s close collaboration with more than 3,000 industry partners, particularly through the University Industry Advisory Panel (UIAP), has strengthened the relevance and quality of its academic and TVET programmes to meet current industry needs.
Through its five TVET clusters including Hospitality and Tourism, Medical and Health Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Games, Business and Management, as well as Education and Social Sciences, MSU offers high-impact programmes in specialised fields including cardiovascular technology, engineering, nursing and aircraft maintenance.
These initiatives have contributed significantly to Malaysia’s higher education landscape, particularly in fostering smart partnerships between higher education institutions and industry players, with a focus on job guarantee and job matching.
With 10 campuses and one learning centre nationwide, MSU College Group also serves as an Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) assessment centre for MSU, offering MSU bachelor’s degree programmes through flexible learning modes, including face-to-face, hybrid and online delivery.
The college group’s achievements are further underscored by its five- and six-star competitive ratings under the Malaysian Private College Quality and Equivalency Assessment System (MyQUEST) by the Ministry of Higher Education, reflecting its strong performance in delivering quality education aligned with national standards.
