Malaysian singer-songwriter Aina Abdul to open heart to fans at Imaji Tour in S’wak

KUCHING (Oct 5): Malaysian singer-songwriter Aina Abdul is set to share her heart with fans through her highly-anticipated Imaji Tour, marking her first-ever concert in Sarawak.

The event will take place on Dec 14 at Arena Gemilang, Dewan Tunku Abdul Rahman (DeTAR) Putra of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).

This concert is a significant milestone in Aina’s decade-long career, where she aims to foster a deeper connection with her audience through a performance filled with personal stories and emotional resonance.

“I’m deeply moved because no one has truly highlighted my ten years in the industry. Thank you so much for acknowledging it,” she told a press conference here yesterday.

Elaborating, Aina said that the Imaji Tour is about showcasing her heartfelt connection with fans, moving beyond surface-level perceptions.

“Sometimes, people from certain views about me, particularly when it comes to my fashion choices. While I appreciate the attention, I feel it has overshadowed my interactions with fans.

“This time, I want to win the hearts of Sarawakians and all Malaysians. I’m offering them my heart along with a visually stunning experience. Everything I’ve been through over the past decade has led to this moment, inspiring the Imaji Tour,” she added.

When asked whether she plans to perform local Sarawakian songs such as ‘Bekikis Bulu Betis’, Aina enthusiastically responded that she had received requests from Sarawak fans to perform their local songs.

“That could be one of the surprises in store. I love learning new things, and while I’m not fluent in Sarawakian, I’ve started to pick up the language slowly. Insya Allah, something special is coming — stay tuned,” she teased.

Aina expressed her genuine affection for Sarawak, noting that her visits have always been met with warmth.

“Every time I come to Sarawak, I have the best experience with the fans, who welcome me with open arms and even give me souvenirs. It feels like my second home now,” she said warmly.

She also revealed that her close connection with Sarawak is reinforced by her music production team in Peninsular Malaysia, many of whom are Sarawakians.

“Whenever I record my songs, I work with a team of Sarawakians based in Peninsular Malaysia. That’s another reason why I feel so close to Sarawakians,” she said.

Aina’s Imaji Tour will span two other locations: Zepp KL on Dec 27; and Dewan Mu’adzam Shah of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in Sintok, Kedah on Jan 11 next year.

Additionally, Aina expressed that Sarawak was selected as the first location for her tour due to the tremendous support she has received from her fans in East Malaysia.

“Throughout my time in the industry, Alhamdulillah, my team and I have already held three concerts in Peninsular Malaysia.

“After conducting reviews and research, we found that most of my loyal fans – those who always fill my concert halls – are from outside the peninsula, especially from Sabah and Sarawak.

“I love them so much because they are willing to go the extra mile to attend my concerts, and it’s always been my dream to come here and hold my solo concert.

“Now, it’s my time to travel and meet the fans,” she added.
