KOTA KINABALU (Oct 31): The Rotary Club of Kinabalu Sutera continued its signature community service project, Vision Care, at SK Bolong in Tuaran last Tuesday (Oct 29).

This initiative provides free eye screenings for students, identifying those in need of corrective eyewear to enhance their vision and academic performance.

Led by President Dr Richard Gontusan, club members and 10 student volunteers from City University Kota Kinabalu screened about 250 students. Of those, 64 were identified as needing glasses. With improved vision, these students will benefit from a better learning experience, equipping them for academic success.

Other participating members included Community Service Chair Paul Chong, Immediate Past President Roger Yapp, President-Elect Ken Chong, and Past Presidents Abu Bakar Sheriff, Christina Aluda, Alice Kunjan, Fatimah Yassin, and KK Lai.

Prospective members Ivy Yew and Jonathan George also assisted at the event.

School principal Amy Lim mentioned that the school serves around 400 students in both morning and afternoon sessions. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club and volunteers for their generous support in providing free eyeglasses to the students.
